Diabetes Mellitus Typ 2 ist in den letzten Jahren ein riesiges Problem und die am häufigsten vorkommende Stoffwechselerkrankung der Welt geworden. Von der laut Internationalen Diabetes Verband (IDF) derzeit 387 Millionen Menschen betroffen, sind nach Schätzungen bis 2035 mehr als 592 Millionen betroffen.1, 2 Und die Zahlen steigen weiterhin an.
